The 42nd IASP World Conference on Science Parks and Areas of Innovation took place in Beijing from 16-19 September 2025, bringing together close to 1,000 delegates from 97 countries around the world to exchange knowledge, share case studies, and explore the future of innovation ecosystems.
Under the theme “Elevating excellence: Innovation spaces driving high-quality development”, the conference featured four days of plenary sessions, thematic discussions, and networking activities. Highlights included the special session at Zhongguancun Changping Science Park and a memorable networking dinner at the Great Wall of China. Delegates also joined technical tours to leading innovation sites such as TusPark, Zhongguancun Software Park, E-Town Robotics Industrial Park, and the Daxing Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Zone, alongside cultural visits to Beijing’s historic landmarks.
Members of ISTT’s International Scientific Cooperation Office actively contributed to the scientific program with a joint paper authored by Mozhgan and Nassim Yazdianpour, titled “How ISTT builds a Community of Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Insights from ISTT.”

The paper, presented by Mozhgan Yazdianpour, Director of International Relations, examined the role of innovation spaces in strengthening technology ecosystems, enhancing economic resilience, and empowering knowledge-based companies. Successful examples from ISTT were introduced as scalable models for science and technology parks worldwide.
Notably, ISTT’s paper was the only contribution from Iran among nearly 80 presented, underscoring the ISTT’s prominent role in representing Iran’s innovation ecosystem on the global stage.
The outcomes of IASP 2025 reaffirmed the importance of science parks and innovation hubs in driving sustainable, high-quality development. Delegates emphasized the need to strengthen international collaboration, accelerate technology transfer, and enhance the role of innovation spaces in addressing global challenges. Looking ahead, the IASP General Assembly announced that the 43rd World Conference will be hosted in Sophia Antipolis, France, in 2026, under the theme “Tech for Humanity: Shaping Values for a Human-Centric Future.” Furthermore, Saudi Arabia was selected to host the 44th IASP World Conference in 2027, which will take place in Dhahran, organized by Dhahran Techno Valley at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
ISTT’s active participation in IASP 2025 reaffirmed its position as a national hub of innovation and entrepreneurship, while also introducing Iran’s achievements in science parks and the knowledge-based economy to an international audience.
